Can The Doctor Treat TMJ, Sciatica, Vertigo, Headaches/Migraines, Back Pain, Tingling, Fibromyalgia, Menstrual Cramps, Etc?

Dr. Tao has helped a lot of people with these common issues. With health, there are never any guarantees, but with regualr chiropractic care, we've noticed that our patients tend to sleep and function at a higher level. When there's more ease in your body, your body will be able to allocate more resources and energy to work on these issues.

Can Chiropractic Help With Fertility Or Getting Pregnant?

There are never any guarantees, but Chiropractic has been able to help people with fertility (or: conceiving/ getting pregnant) There are a few ways Chiropractic can help. We know that the nerves in the low back go into the reproductive organs. Stress in the low back can affect things like fertility and cramping. Also, when we reduce stress in the body, it becomes easier for people to become pregnant.

Why Do I Need X-rays? I'm Worried About The Radiation.

The reason we take x-rays is because your health is too important for us to guess with. When Dr. Tao takes x-rays, he will see exactly where the stress is in your spine, so that he can properly address it.

Modern digital x-rays require significaly less radiation than x-rays from 20 years ago. It's about the same amount of radiation you'd get by just walking through the airport.

I Just Had X-rays. Do I Need To Take Them Again?

Depending on the type of x-ray done and when it was done, Dr. Tao may still want to take his own. Dr. Tao is looking for specific things when he takes x-rays. You can give us a call at 626-365-1060 to discuss further.

Why Aren't You Open On The Weekends? When Will You Have Weekend Hours?

Dr. Tao sees a lot of patients during the week. Since he recommends that his patients take time to recharge for their own health, he does as well. It's important to Dr. Tao that he takes care of his own health so that he can provide the best possible care for his patients during the week.

Dr. Tao is currently the only Chiropractor here. In the future if we take on another Chiropractor, we may decide to have weekend hours at that point.

What Techniques Does The Doctor Do? Does He Use The Y-strap?

Dr. Tao mainly does diversified manual adjusting, but for many of his patients, he uses a drop table or activator. A lof of it depends on patient safety and preference.

Dr. Tao does not use a Y-strap, but he can use his hands to decompress the spine in the same way but with less force.

Can I Exercise After Adjustments?

One of the best things to do after getting adjusted is to move your body but not past your current limits. When we go on a walk, or play a sport, or do an exercise after an adjustment, we are re-enforcing the nerve connections between our brain and the previously stuck joints. This is exactly what we want. The worst thing to do after an adjustment is to sit in traffic or at your desk.

What Exercises Should I Be Doing At Home?

With health, the most important factors are consistency over a long period of time. Find an activity or exercise that you enjoy doing so that you will do it regularly. Make sure you listen to your body: don’t force your body to do something it’s not ready for. Do movements with good form. Generally speaking, I do recommend incorporating some weight-bearing exercises to help maintain bone density as we age.

What Do You Think About Acupuncture?

Acupuncture is wonderful to add to your health regime. Acupuncture and chiropractic do not interfere with each other and are both holistic approaches to health. Not only does Dr. Tao get adjusted every week, but he also regularly has acupuncture and massage.

He recommends Addison Taylor at Flight of Healing or Iris Martin of Vital Integrative Medicine
